What is your church building, buildings or relationships? It seems that many churches spend a lot of time, effort, and money in order to raise money to build buildings or buy the latest toys. These same churches can forget that what is important in a church is not where you meet but that you have a group of believers desperately seeking God together. I understand why churches want nice buildings and the latest technology, they think they are making the church more seeker friendly. They think they a providing a place where people will want to come.
We decided at our church that we would do the song worship after the teaching...it has been incredible. People can worship with so much more passion and understanding after they've heard the sermon.

Creating a website for your church can actually be fairly easy and inexpensive. There are a lot of great tools available to make building a website doable, even for people who have no clue how to build a website.
Does your church need a website?
A church website can be very helpful for your church members and for possible visitors. It is easy and cheap, so why not provide the extra source of information for people?
What should the website include?
A church website should have a few basic items:
So often when we think of serving people we think of mission trips or serving the homeless, and those are huge. Those ways we can and should serve people. But there is another way that should not be forgotten, and that is serving the people within your church. If tragedy strikes, the church should be one of the first places people call, knowing that they'll find people who will listen and people who will physically help.

We are here to help all types of pastors. Senior pastors, youth pastors, childrens pastors, music pastors, small group pastors, missions pastors and any others. We want to give you advice and tips that will make your job easier so you can spend more time with people - building relationships, because that is what we should be doing with most of our time.
Churches often setup programs or ministries that allow people to come to them for some activity or event. As a church we need to look at ways that we can go to people and meet their needs where they are. A big part of that starts within your own church body.
As a youth pastor it can be easy to get burned out and frustrated. Not only are you dealing with flawed human beings, but ones who are at a stage in life where their reasoning and ability to think is impaired by hormones and brain development.
It can be difficult to pour your heart into people and not see any results, but that is often the plight of a youth pastor. But don't get discouraged, you are planting seeds and the students are soaking in the knowledge and experiences. God is using you and the students are learning even if it doesn't seem like it.
Mentor based small groups require a lot more dedication and reliability from their group members, but the payoff can be increased growth and community.
A mentor based group usually pairs a mentor with one or more mentees in a small group setting that opens up the lines of communication for people to ask questions, grow, learn from the mistakes of others, and create accountability. Here are a few ideas on how these groups could look:
Crazy how the early church had so much right to begin with. Then things changed when people were added to the church. Acts 5 talks about the first sin in the church, and it had to do with dishonesty, integrity and money! Crazy. It wasn't as much of a money issue as it was a lying to God issue. Ananias & Sapphira were determined to try to swindle God. Imagine thinking that we could fool God with our sin...oh wait, we do that a lot don't we.
